A hotel room, or rather the image of a hotel room, on the confines of the exhibition space …
The room is unoccupied…
However, the furniture is subject to sound events…
Hearing Ghosts
If furniture says something of its owner, in a hotel it comes to occupy, to appropriate, a bed, a desk, a table or a seat, the time of our presence …
For Hearing Ghosts, artists have invested the space of a piece or a set of furniture itself: the sound pieces are disseminated through the furniture, that becomes speaker, vehicle of the word of the artist, of his artistic proposal.
Hearing Ghosts is an exhibition of sound pieces, a set of projections considering the sound as a sensitive vibration phenomenon, manifestation of an idea, f a feeling, an image. The sound here is a way to animate the inert, attune fixed forms.
The exhibition space and what is there are constitutive of the exhibition: the acoustic space is the vector of sounds appearance, pieces of furniture are rendering devices and sounds filters.
